Actualise Africa is involved in the training of researchers and policy makers to enable them better contribute to a more evidence-informed policy making process, and also utilise the outcomes of science for more direct benefit to our society.
To this end we have partnered with the following, among others:
Partnership for African Social and Governance Research
We have participated in the flagship Advanced Research Design, which is aimed at training academics in research skills for policy-engaged research
Know Innovation/Inclusive Innovation (KI/II)
We partner on various leadership training activities, particularly for young scientists, in Africa and across the world. A good example of long term collaboration is on the Africa Science Leadership Programme, which we have designed in collaboration with Future Africa at the University of Pretoria. Here we employ the creative problem solving process with Africa’s brightest minds to ignite a passion for greater societal engagement, and have trained more than 120 researchers to-date. We have also partnered KI/II on creating workshops for the Global Young Academy (GYA), International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) and the World Science Forum.
