Vision

We would like to see Africa as a continent evolve and fulfill the potential that she has. One of the surest ways, we believe, is raising and supporting present and emerging leaders so that we can together work to address our complex and pressing challenges, especially in the area of education.

Actualise Africa proposes to contribute to this in two ways:

  1. Develop the capacity of scientists and researchers to engage better with policy and society
  2. Contribute to a better understanding of African education systems with a view to creating alternative and more responsive approaches to education

In this way, we feel that we can galvanise the necessary energy around re-imagining and creating our hoped for future, and setting us on the path to a more self-aware and productive Africa.

  1. You have a very interesting profile. Everything I wanted to be you already are; engineer & studying at twente, the Netherlands. Also, you must be good in mathematics and physics, my core A level subjects together with chemistry. In short, I want to find out how it happened -your motivation, and how you are coping.

  2. Dear makingetuno,

Thank you for dropping by, and for your your kind words.

I’d say this circuitous route has come about because I was always committed to finding out what I am really suited to do. Becoming an educator was a happy accident because it enabled me to discover my true passion (not engineering, incidentally, but education itself)! After that everything else fell in place because I was able to make more focused decisions, and to follow up opportunities that only took me further along my chosen path.

I would say that is the whole secret of finding myself where I am now.
